Rakatirataka and Ōritetaka: Understanding and improving injured Māori experiences and outcomes

Keynote Speaker: Associate Professor Emma Wyeth, Associate Professor - Māori Health & Director - Ngāi Tahu Māori Health Research Unit, University of Otago

Māori, the Indigenous population of New Zealand, experience many health inequities; injury and injury outcomes are no exception. This presentation will provide an overview of some of the key research approaches undertaken to ensure increased knowledge and improved injury outcomes for Māori. Key findings from over a decade of research focusing on outcomes and experiences of injured Māori injury will also be presented.
