How organisations mark it

  • Review safeguarding policies and reporting routes in schools, clubs, care settings and faith organisations, and test that they work in practice.
  • Train the adults who work with children to recognise concerns and to know exactly who they report to and how fast.
  • Find out what health care and support exists locally for children who have been harmed, and how long the wait is.
  • Talk with children, in age-appropriate terms, about body safety and which adults they can tell.
  • Publish what your organisation has changed since last year rather than issuing a statement of intent.
