Poisoning & home hazards

How organisations mark it
- Save the Poison Help line, 1-800-222-1222, in every phone in the household and post it where a carer would look.
- Lock medicines and cleaning products up and out of sight, and keep them in their original child-resistant containers.
- Clear out expired and unused prescriptions and take them to a drug take-back point.
- Check toys, remotes and keyfobs for loose button battery compartments.
- Run the Council's poster contest with a primary class or the video contest with older students, and share your local poison center's materials.
