About
The Safety Almanac is a calendar of the world’s safety awareness days, weeks and months, each one dated for the year and tied to the injury it exists to prevent, with a small sourced injury-facts reference behind it.
Who publishes it
An independent publisher. Not a charity, not a membership body, not an arm of any of the organisations whose observances appear here. Nothing on this site is sponsored and nothing is sold.
Independence
The Safety Almanac has no connection with any organisation, event or campaign that appears on it, and none with anyone who may have used its address before. The full statement is on the disclaimer page.
How the dates are confirmed
A date is marked confirmed only when somebody has read the organiser’s own page and recorded the address and the day they read it. Both appear on the page.
Where an organiser has not announced a year yet but has kept the same rule for years — the third Sunday of November, the week containing 9 October — the page shows the expected date and says in as many words that it is expected. Where an organiser sets the dates afresh each year and has not announced, there is no page for that year at all. That is the difference between this calendar and the one-page lists that go wrong the moment an organiser moves a week.
If something here is wrong
Every observance page links to the organiser’s own announcement, which is the authority for its dates and its theme. If this site disagrees with that page, the organiser is right and we are wrong, and the fix is to tell them first: their announcement is what we read. This site takes no email and runs no forms.
